Students dressed their best and belted out festive songs at our annual Winter Concert.
The elementary children – kindergarten through fifth grade – performed Tuesday at Pantano Christian Church. Also performing that night were the SINGERS (our after-school choir for students in first through third grade) as well as CHAMP Choir (our after-school choir for students in fourth through eighth grade).
This year, students performed “One Day in December”, which involved a scriped story that combined singing with some acting. It told a story about a magical sleigh that the kids ‘find’ in a garage. The sleigh “took off”, taking children to different places around the world. The sleigh stopped in places such as Russia – where students saw dancers and singers, Africa – to witness the first day of harvest and a Kwanzaa celebration, and New York City – to hear Silver Bells. A new grade level came on stage to perform every time the sleigh landed in a new place.
Here’s a message from Ms. Savage to our students and staff:
Congratulations to all of our students that performed at the Winter Concert on Tuesday! You performed and sang wonderfully! I am so proud of all of you!!
Thank you also to all of the teachers, staff, and administrators who came early, stayed late, hauled equipment, and helped to watch our children during the program. The concert was truly a TCDS team effort, and I am so proud to be a part of this staff.
Here are some pictures from the Winter Concert, which was a night of fun, excitement and beautiful harmonies! Thank you Yearbook students for taking these pictures.
