Our third grade students learned a lot about recycling when an employee from the Environmental Education Exchange visited them recently.
Presenting through Tucson Environmental Management, Paula Nasiatka gave a presentation on recycling to the students.
Ms. Nasiatka provided the students with many opportunities to show what they already know about recycling as well as what they learned from the presentation. Students also were able to ask and answer questions about recycling.
The third graders got to see and discuss the sources from which products come and the processes that they go through to be recycled.
Students played a fun recycling game as well.
Students also learned that throwing away certain materials instead of recycling them is basically throwing money away!
One of our third grade teachers, Ms. Rianna, says the students learned a lot about recycling and were very excited when Ms. Nasiatka gave each of them a pencil that was made from recycled paper.
Thank you, Ms. Nasiatka, for sharing this wonderful information on recycling with our third graders!
