PIMA COUNTY ART FAIR 2017 — VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Would you like to help us hang art at the Pima County Fair? This year Tucson Country Day School will be displaying artwork from students in preschool through eighth grade.
On Saturday, April 8th – beginning at 10am – we will be hanging art at the fairgrounds. Please contact Art teacher Mrs. Phelps at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have questions and if you can help. A huge thank you goes out from Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Paradis!
What’s this about my student’s artwork at the Pima County Fair?
Here’s a note from Art teachers Mrs. Paradis and Mrs. Phelps:
It’s time again for the Art Show at the Pima County Fair! Student artists from schools all over the county show their artworks to the entire regional community. We participate every year with hundreds of entries from preschool to eighth grade, and every student wins a ribbon!
Every year, we explain how we choose the artwork that goes to the fair to the students. We don’t focus on talent; rather we emphasize following the guidelines of each project and making a great effort. For example, a very talented student may waste time socializing and hand in a late project. That artwork would not qualify. Also, only finished and clean artworks are chosen. Finally, students must label their art with their name and age.
This year the fair opens April 20th and closes April 30th. Many, many thanks to the students, teachers and parents who help us (Mrs. Paradis and Mrs. Phelps) make our Pima County Fair Art Show so spectacular!

We look forward to seeing you at the fair!
Art teacher Mrs. Phelps recently took a trip to the Pima County Fair to check out all of our students’ wonderful and creative art work. Take a look at these pictures Mrs. Phelps took of many pieces to our giant 727-piece Tucson Country Day School art display at the fair.
The Pima County Fair is open April 16-26. Head on down to check out students’ wonderful artwork.
Excellent work students, and thank you to our art teachers, students and all of our teachers for your hard work and amazing ideas!
Head out to the Pima County Fair, and check out the hundreds of pieces of student artwork from our school.
Our school has the most pieces of artwork displayed, and this year we set a record for ourselves with about 730 pieces of art.
Kindergarten through eighth grade art is displayed in Old Pueblo Hall at the fair. Artwork on display includes painting, drawing, ceramics, collages and print-making. Most elementary students completed their artwork during three to four sessions of art class. Middle school artwork was completed in five to seven sessions.

The Pima County Fair opened April 17 and closes on April 27. Old Pueblo Hall is ope throughout the day and closes at 9:00p.m.
We are thankful that the fair art committee does a wonderful job with encouraging and motivating the schools to keep creating artwork. As we know how important the arts are in school, we appreciate how the fair informs the public of this as well.
We hope you can take at look at our student’s artwork on display at the fair.
