Students, families, teachers, staff and volunteers had a wonderful time during our school’s second annual Go Live!
Atrwork was on display in the MPR as well as around campus; performing arts, extra-curricular and sports demonstrations took place throughout the evening; adults and children participated in fun games and activities such as cupcake decorating, Loteria, face painting, Henna, making their own Bongo, biking to make salsa, bubble fun, an archeological dig, ball launching, bookmark-making, tye-dying shirts, games in the garden; and tamale dinners, pizza, and treats were on hand for those to eat.
Excellent work to Art teachers Mrs. Phelps and Mrs. Paradis – and all who were involved – in making Go Live! a fun and successful evening.
Our second annual Go Live! event is coming up on Saturday, May 7 from 4pm-7pm, and we hope you can join us!
The family evening will feature performances from students in many of our specials classes (PE, Music, Art, Spanish, Technology, Orchestra, Band) as well as extracurricular activities (Jump Rope club, sports, Garden Club, etc.). Every student in preschool through eighth grade will have a piece of their artwork showcased at Go Live! as well.
There will also be exciting activities for kids and adults to take part in. Plus, you can now begin ordering activity tickets and dinner tickets online through our school’s website. Check out the information below for the details on activities and tickets. *This was a flyer sent home with students.
Wow – what a wonderful evening our students, families, teachers and staff had this past Saturday at Tucson Country Day School’s Go Live! event!
Go Live! was an amazing evening full of performances from our Specialty classes and extra-curricular activities such as Garden Club, athletic teams, fiddlers and Jump Rope Club, artwork from every student displayed throughout the campus, games, cupcake decorating, photo booth fun from Making Memories Last, and a lot of delicious food.
Kids stood in line to get their faces beautifully painted by Ms. Barney and more volunteers…
The Victory Garden was open for everyone to check out the plants and daily duties students do in the garden. Many people made garden pets to take home with them…
Staff also served pizza near the garden. There were many choices of pizza businesses to choose from – Mama’s Pizza, Renee’s Organic Oven, Brooklyn Pizza and Pizza Studio.
Student Council students helped Mrs. St. Amand sell desserts from Just Desserts and Coffeehouse, Nadines Bakery and Mimi’s Café. They also sold fruit from Sprouts.
The Spanish teachers played Loteria with Go Live! attendants. What fun!
Go Live! attendees had great fun being creative as they got to decorate cupcakes – and eat them! The cupcakes were from Frys and Albertsons, and the frosting and toppings were from Safeway.
Student artwork was displayed throughout campus…
Some artwork in our new MPR..
Our lovely kitchen ladies – and family members – helped serve delicious tamale dinners from Tucson Tamale Company.
Ms. Jacque took a break to smile for a picture.
Some of our students took a break from the excitement to pose for a picture.
The Drama Club performed a wonderful song from their upcoming play.
Athletic teams and students got in the game with several sports and activities to play…
Mrs. Phelps and students drew Henna designs for those wishing for some artwork on them.
Teachers and staff had booths for a range of events such as sports, Camp Adventure and Summer Prep…
Teens and kids checked out the Sci-Fi and Cartoon Clubs…
Thank you to everyone – students, families, teachers, staff, donors – who made Go Live! a big success! We know our students are special, and we are so happy to recognize their wonderful and hard work by showcasing the amazing things that they do every day in their Specialty classes as well as extra-curricular activities.
Thank you again donors and businesses we worked with for Go Live!:

All staff and teachers at Tucson Country Day School want to sincerely thank each one of the local businesses that are graciously supporting our Go Live! event on Saturday, May 2 from 4:30pm-7:00pm. We are so excited to have your support, and we look forward to seeing your items and tasting your delicious food and treats at Go Live!
Greetings TCDS Family!
Here are a few thoughts about the Go Live! Event that is happening Saturday, May 2 from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m.
The Specialists designed Go Live! with one major vision – to celebrate the students of TCDS after a year of growth and learning. Each student will be represented in the variety of Specials (Art, Music, Spanish, P.E., and Technology), which we offer every day. We know that one of the things that makes TCDS so unique is that we have never abandoned our Specials to budget cuts, no matter how hard times have become. And we also know that in the arts, athletics, and technology, your children shine brightly.
In addition to shows and performances from students through our Specials classes, many clubs will also be represented and have some special activities – including Garden Club, Comics, Sci-Fi, Drama Club and Jump Rope.
Other exciting events at Go Live! include:
* An amazing Tamale Dinner, and join the Loteria, provided by our Spanish Department! (Please pre-order your Mexican dinner in the office by April 24.)
* Decorate cupcakes with Ms. Culbertson.
* Get a beautiful Henna design by Mrs. Phelps!
* Bring the memories home when you take a picture with family and friends in a real photo booth!
* Watch music and drama performances, and admire the four art shows.
*Delicious desserts from local bakeries and businesses
* Garden Club “pizza sampling” featuring local pizzerias
