Family STEM Night a Great Success!

Our recent Family STEM Night was a big hit for students, staff and TCDS families!

Science teachers Mrs. Maxwell and Mrs. Huetter headed up Wednesday’s action-packed evening.  Students’ science fair projects were on display; four telescopes were set up on the lower  basketball court for star and nighttime viewing; and students enjoyed presentations about light pollution and asteroids.

Family STEM Night promotes our school’s Science department and recognizes student achievements in science while inviting the community to gather to enjoy an evening of science-related topics and activities.

Thank you to all the students, teachers, staff, SPA members and volunteers who helped make our Family STEM Night so successful!

Family STEM Night: A Hit For All!

The recent Family STEM Night at TCDS was a hit for all – engaging, educational and a lot of fun!

Students participated in a variety of activities that involve STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Kids tested out games that help them learn and master critical math skills, combined math and movement and took part in many hands-on activities and games.

Among the activities:

Middle school students created games for all to play. Student built paper airplanes.

Families constructed recyclable cities in Mrs. Maxwell’s Science classroom. The city – called Imagine Nation – even had a solar system constructed for it! What creative minds our students and their families have.
