Our school year kicked off on a positive note as we rolled out the red carpet to welcome students back to school this Thursday. It’s the second year in a row for this tradition of greeting our students on the first day of school in this fashion.
Students got star treatment from teachers and staff the moment they made their way on campus for the first day of school. The school’s preschool and prekindergarten teachers were there as well to greet their students.
The red carpet walkway was rolled out from the parking lot sidewalk, through the school’s gate and into the campus. Students were be surprised and had fun as they became the stars “walking the red carpet” as they entered school. Teachers and staff were – and will be throughout school – the students’ fans on both sides of the red carpet as they clapped, gave high-fives and cheered for each of the students.
Our red carpet welcome is a way to encourage our students and let them know how much we care about them and are excited for them to be with us at school. It also lets students know that teachers and staff will be their fans from day one of the school year. Our fun event also helps build our school unity.
The Arizona Daily Star also came out to take pictures of our red carpet event. Here is a link to the pictures they took:
Here are many of our students walking the red carpet – pictures were captured by one of our school photographers.
