Students have been rehearsing for our annual Winter Concert. There are two upcoming musical winter programs to enjoy.
Elementary Winter Concert
The elementary children – kindergarten through fifth grade – will perform on Tuesday, December 3rd at Pantano Christian Church. The concert begins at 6:30 pm. Also performing that night are the SINGERS (our after-school choir for students in first through third grade) as well as CHAMP Choir (our after-school choir for students in fourth through eighth grade).
This year, students are performing “One Day in December”, which is a scripted story that involves singing as well as some acting. It’s a story about a magical sleigh that the kids ‘find’ in a garage. The sleigh takes off, taking children to different places around the world. The sleigh stops in places such as Russia – where students see dancers and singers, Africa – to witness the first day of harvest and a Kwanzaa celebration, and New York City – to hear Silver Bells. A new grade level will come onto the stage to perform every time the sleigh lands in a new place.
Information for parents: Students should be dropped off at Pantano Christian Church by 6 pm the night of the concert. Children are encouraged to wear dressy, holiday outfits.
The lyrics to the songs that will be performed are posted on Ms. Savage’s E-Planner to make for easy practicing at home.
The Winter Concert is sure to be a night of fun, excitement and beautiful harmonies!
Middle School Band and Orchestra Winter Concert
Our second music concert takes place Thursday, December 12 at 6:30 pm. This concert will likely be at the school – a definite location will be determined as soon as possible.
Information for parents: Middle school students in band and orchestra will perform in this concert. Students are asked to arrive early for tuning and warm-up; orchestra students are asked to arrive at 5:45 pm and band students at 6:00 pm.
Students are encouraged to wear black pants or skirts with white shirts or blouses.
Another captivating evening is sure to be had with this concert!
