Original Works will be delivered before Thanksgiving
Thank you again to everyone who ordered from Original Works this year! Thank you also to Lucinda Peralta & Shary Rohrer! Many families will have really cute gifts and keepsakes this year because of your efforts. Great job!

Box Tops for Education Contest Ends November 30th
For every 10 Box Tops for Education that you turn in, a raffle ticket in your child’s name will be placed into the contest to win a gift card to Target! Please trim your Box Tops and tape or glue them onto the collection sheet which was sent home with your child a couple of weeks ago. The other way you can submit them is by placing 10, 20, 30, etc. into a plastic baggie or envelope with your child’s name, grade and teacher on it.

Fall Festival – What a Great Turnout!
Wow! What a great event! Lots of new faces and plenty of returning students. Thank you again to Lori Owen for organizing the event and to all of our wonderful volunteers!! We couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you especially to all the teachers and parents in the dunk tank & pie eating contests. Anyone interested in organizing this event next year? Remember to Pick Up Your Cookie Dough Orders on Nov 17th
Thank you to Debbie Ross and Molly Quatraro for their leadership and to our wonderful TCDS families for ordering lots of cookie dough this year! We sold over 2,800 tubs, surpassing last year’s sales and making over $13,000 in profit! Great Job!! Understandably though, we do not have enough freezer space to store that many items, so PLEASE be sure to come get your order on the 17th or make arrangements for someone else to pick it up for you. Top sellers will be announced before delivery day.

Handing out and organizing all of this cookie dough is not a trivial matter so if you’re available to help on the 17th, please contact Lori Owen at spa@tcdcharterschool.com. Your assistance is definitely appreciated.

Directories are Here
The school directories are finished!! Each student should have been given one to bring home. For those of you with multiple students, please bring your extra directories back to Ms. Rachel in the Student Store. This way we won’t need to print as many copies, saving paper and school resources. Need an extra copy? They will be available for purchase at the Student Store for just $1. Thank you also to our great advertisers - let’s be sure to show our support and mention the directory when you visit their businesses.

The Spell-a-thon is Coming in January!
What is the Spell-a-thon you ask? It's part fundraiser and part spelling contest rolled into one. Students collect pledges from friends and family to learn their spelling words. There will be great prizes and a chance to win a trip to Chuck E Cheese in a limo! Those who excel on the Spell-a-thon test will have a chance to qualify to represent TCDS in the Pima county spelling bee. Look for a packet containing all the details to come home before the holiday break. The Spell-a-thon test will take place in January.

What is Labels for Education?
It is a program that has for more than 38 years been awarding free educational equipment to schools in exchange for proofs of purchase from the Campbell family of brands. It’s a fun, easy program where students, families and members of the community work together for a common goal.

There are 2 ways to help earn points for our school.

The first is to cut all participating UPC's (barcodes) and bringing them to our School and turning them into the SPA box or the Box Top box. There are many products that are included. Please use this link to see all participating products http://www.labelsforeducation.com/earn/participating-products.aspx.

The second way is to register at http://www.elabelsforeducation.com/Sites/Campbells_eLabels/Page/HomePage/. During this process you can enter your Safeway Card and Fry's card number to your account. Once you register all you have to do is shop. For each participating item you buy TCDS will earn 1 point toward our account. Now this doesn't mean to stop clipping, because the 5point UPC's are only worth 1 point through the register.

Frequent Shopper Cards
Please help support TCDS by getting us FREE money! We have linked up with three local grocers and three office supply stores who will give back us a percentage of their sales when you shop at their stores. Next time you go shopping at any of those listed below, give them the following number and they’ll give us a portion of your sale back as free money! The grocery store money goes to SPA while all office supply purchases help supplement our Tech Lab and Preschool/PreK budgets.

Recycling Ink Cartridges
Ms. Wanda & Ms. Saundra need your help collecting used ink & toner cartridges. Bring your empty printer cartridges into either the Preschool or K-5 Tech lab & they’ll turn them into much needed supplies for our school! Every ink cartridge recycled gives the school $2-$3 in credit at major office supply stores. Don't throw those cartridges away! Bring them to school & turn them into cash.

Weekly Email Updates Continue
Thanks to Mrs. Stacey in the office, periodic emails are sent out (typically weekly) to the TCDS email list, updating folks on what is happening within our school. Look for a message from announcements@tcdcharterschool.com. If you have not given your email address to the school, please send it to announcements@tcdcharterschool.com so you can be added to the distribution list. If you believe we have your address and have not received an email update yet, please send us an email and let us know so we can get any issues resolved. This is a great, easy way for TCDS to keep everyone informed.
