Hats – or rather, sombreros – off to a wonderful Cinco de Mayo celebration at our school!
Elementary Spanish teacher Señora Elsa and Middle School Spanish teacher Señora McDonald organized a Cinco de Mayo celebration in which all prekindergarten through fifth grade students participated in.
Several fifth grade students helped Señora Elsa to get everything ready for the party.
The students learned what Cinco de Mayo is all about.
The students had a lot of fun dancing “La Macarena”.
They played “lotería” and “ponle la cola al burro” and made paper flowers and mustaches.
There was also a Salsa Contest for teachers and staff. Some staff members brought homemade salsa for any staff to taste and vote for their favorite. It was so fun and delicious!
The kids had a lot of fun dressing up for pictures!
