Shaping Clay With Our Hands, Elbows and Feet!

Preschool and prekindergarten students participated in an art project that was not only hands-on; it was also “elbows on” and “feet on”!

Art teacher Mrs. Sherrod gave students a large clay cube. The students had great fun changing the shape of the clay with their hands, elbows and feet. Students really enjoyed the movements they did while shaping their clay.

Mrs. Sherrod and the kids talked about 3D “fat” shapes and 2D “flat” shapes while changing the shape of the clay.

Excellent lesson Mrs. Sherrod and great work shaping that clay, students!

These action pictures below are students from Ms. Martha’s preschool class. Check out how flat the students got their piece of clay!
