Second grade students celebrated the three-day school week before Thanksgiving by presenting their Heritage Projects – marking the 13th annual year for the informative research projects.
For the project, students worked mostly at home – as well as some in-class – to research where their ancestors came from. They made flags of the specific country, created a family tree and even outfitted a large paper doll (some kids chose to dress an actual doll) in an outfit that could be seen in the country the student researched.
Students presented their Heritage Projects – and then enjoyed a tasty potluck with their classmates. Potluck foods were brought in by the students and consisted of foods that came from the countries each student researched.
What great projects! Excellent work!
