Preschool and prekindergarten students celebrated being thankful, accepting one another and singing a great song they learned about the “Seven Habits” at their annual Fall performance.
Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild played a special part at the performance as he narrated the book One by Kathryn Otoshi. One is a book about anti-bullying, self-acceptance and how to be a conscientious bystander. During the story, our students (just over 100 children in our preschool and prekindergarten) acted out the various characters in the book. Each class even wore matching shirts to portray the different characters!
The students connected the themes of One to a song they sang and performed actions to as a way to tell audience members what they know about the “Seven Habits of Learning” for students. It was quite a long song, and all of our students did a wonderful job as they enthusiastically sang!
Following the kids’ performance, students, their families and teachers joined together for a tasty potluck lunch.
Way to go, students! We are so proud of you!
The students created this “Seven Habits” and One colorful painting in Art class.
