Our annual Olympiad Day took place last Wednesday. It was a blast!
Students were divided into teams based on our six middle school House colors, and teams wore the same color shirts for the Olympiad competition. We looked like a rainbow of purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red ?as we moved around the campus.
Students competed in typical track and field events like the 25-yard dash and the long jump. They also competed in fun events like the sponge squeeze, scooter races and an obstacle course. They also spent time playing carnival games and dancing to
their favorite music.
At the afternoon awards ceremony, the RED team took top honors with the YELLOW team finishing in second place – only three points behind the RED team. As always, everyone won on Wednesday, and everyone was a Champion.
After the awards ceremony, teachers and staff played against our eighth grade athletes in a close game of kickball. In the end, the teachers and staff took the victory with a score of one to zero. Students cheered their fellow students and the teachers and staff on.
Many thanks to all of our volunteers including family members and friends and our own National Junior Honor Society and Student Council members. Olympiad Day would not be successful without you. Also a big thanks to our teacher planning team: Ms. Jacque, Mr. Jason, Ms. Miranda and Ms. Stacey.
