National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) students have been busy lately.
Their latest adventure was on December 5th. That’s when twelve NJHS students participated in a community service project that benefitted the Homeless Veterans Integration Program.
The students went to a warehouse that Big Brothers Big Sisters has and worked for four hours sorting, organizing and making an inventory of household goods that, while now are being stored in a warehouse, will soon be moved into apartments for homeless veterans who have recently become “renters”.
NJHS students worked hard, and the pictures show the hard work. What a wonderful way to give back to the community!
Other recent events National Junior Honor Society has participated in include:
* The NJHS students adopted a TCDS family of 10 for Thanksgiving and provided a Thanksgiving feast for them.
* They organized and ran a school-wide book and bear drive benefitting Tucson children who are in CPS care. Very generous TCDS parents and staff donated 1,047 books and bears for this cause.
* Right before Thanksgiving, NJHS students launched The Giving Tree Program. The program benefits 10 TCDS families, helping them to have a joyous holiday season.
Thank you to everyone – parents, staff and students – who helped out with these wonderful philanthropic events.
