The Middle School at Tucson Country Day School serves students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Class ratios are 1:24.
The block schedule enables teachers to provide instruction in a focused and in-depth manner that requires them to be innovative and creative. Students participate in their instruction through individual work, groups, pairs, and more hands-on activities. Teachers work as a team and collaborate with each other to incorporate areas of study into more than one class.
Students are registered in six CORE classes that include Math, Language Art, Science, Social Studies, Spanish and Technology. Our Math classes are grouped by gender. Math offerings include pre-Algebra, Algebra and Geometry.
In addition to the CORE classes, students are enrolled in Physical Education, Art
and Music. 7th and 8th graders are enrolled in an American Justice class and seminar classes that afford students in-depth discussion and research opportunities.
Students can bring their own lunch to school, or buy a lunch or ala carte items each day.
Students are given the opportunity to have a locker, if they choose to use one.
