Ms. Sarah’s kindergarten students changed up their recent Science lesson to learn about volcanoes after hearing the current news about the volcanoes in Hawaii.
The Jungle Cats did several mini-lessons throughout the day including learning what a volcano is and researching the biggest volcano known to man (which is another interesting fact as it’s on Mars!). The students also learned how islands are formed by underwater volcanoes.
The kids ended their day with a hands-on project as they made models of volcanoes with clay and used red construction paper to show flows and eruptions of lava.
Ms. Sarah says, “It was a great day filled with learning and excitement.”
