Kindergarten Collaborates with Fifth Grade to Learn About Native American Tribes

Kindergarten students have been busy working on a Native American unit.

The kids learned how Native Americans wrote using symbols – and then they compared that form of writing to how the kids write using letters today.

To learn more about Native Americans, fifth grade teacher Mr. V and his class met with kindergarten classes in the MPR to present on the different tribes in Arizona. The information was presented through power point presentations and posters.

Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Culbertson says, “It was truly amazing how they spent a great deal of time preparing and then sharing with all of the kindergarten classes…”

The young students were grateful to learn so much information about Native Americans.

Great collaboration, Mr. V’s students and kindergarten!
