Second grade students were digging into their roots to discover exactly where they – and their family – came from. Students worked on heritage projects which included a report on the country their ancestors came from, the country’s flag and a doll or paper doll that they dressed up to represent clothing from the country studied. Some students also brought in pictures of family members.
Students presented what they discovered, and the classes had a potluck – each student brought in a food from the country that they learned about during their heritage project.
Excellent work, second graders! We are proud of you, and we know you learned a lot about the country your ancestors came from.
