Our “Girls on the Run” girls are making a difference in our community!
On Monday, our school’s 20 “Girls on the Run” participants – in grades three through five – took part in a community service project. The girls were challenged to provide some type of service for others in our community.
On their own, the girls decided to make toys for animals at the Humane Society of Southern Arizona (HSSA). They made dog toys out of socks and empty water bottles and cat toys out of cat nip, string, fabric and bells.
The girls discussed how the toys would help both the animals and the people who work at the HSSA.
“Girls on the Run” leaders Ms. Adrienne (first-grade teacher) and Ms. Laurie (kindergarten teacher) are very proud of the girls!
