Many families came to our recent Family Literacy Night on February 10.
We opened the library for students and their parents to look at books and read there. The campus was also available for families to find a nice place to read together.
Families were also treated to ice cream.
Principal Dr. Anders decided to hold Family Literacy Night at TCDS.
“Family Literacy Night occurred on a rare beautiful February evening. Many families enjoyed the opportunity to hang out and read books together with a dish of ice cream from the kitchen. We know from many research studies that reading with children daily is one of the best things parents can do to increase reading skills. As Frank Smith said way back in 1988, children learn to read and write by reading and writing!” said Dr. Anders.
Reading – and ice cream – with family. What a great evening!
