On Pi Day – March 14 – all of the fifth graders held a Pi Day celebration and learned a lot while doing so! Teachers incorporated readings, intriguing activities and math lessons into the fun morning of events. Students were engaged and had great fun learning about the number whose digits keep on going.
About Pi: (from www.math.com) Pi is the name given to the ratio of the circumference of a circle to the diameter. That means, for any circle, you can divide the circumference by the diameter and always get exactly the same number. It doesn’t matter how big or small the circle is, Pi remains the same. Pi is often written using the symbol and is pronounced “pie”.
