Kindergarten students are working on their writing skills by learning about their classmates – and creating Classroom Friendship Books.
In all of the kindergarten classes, each student tells the class something that he or she likes. The teachers write it on the board, and students copy it onto their paper and draw a picture to go with it.
After each student has told the class one of the things that they like and students create a written page and creative picture about each of their classmates, teachers will bind the pages together to create a special friendship book for every student.
What a great way to increase writing skills and get to know your classmates in a fun and engaging way!
Other skills are also being learned – these writing samples were taken by a kindergarten student.
