Campers Treated to Cooking Lessons with Chef Armando


Campers attending this past Thursday’s day camp (there was no school last Thursday and Friday due to Fall Break) had a wonderful time testing out their cooking skills! Special guest Chef Armando Rodriguez – owner and chef of Healthy Innovations, which caters to TCDS for our school’s lunch program – spent time with the kids, teaching them how to cook a variety of items.

The younger campers made their own banana pudding – a favorite specialty that appears once a week on our school’s salad bar.

It was stir fry fun for the older campers. The kids made a tasty stir fry and put it over rice. This dish is currently not offered as an option for our school’s lunch program, but the kids enjoyed eating it as a snack during camp.
