Admissions: Admissions Policy
Prospective students are assessed in mathematics, reading and writing at the school. Students are placed in the grade level that is appropriate based on their assessment results and any other relevant factors.
Interviews with parents and student(s) are scheduled after completion of the assessments.
Parents are required to bring the student's official birth certificate, current immunizations, current report card, attendance/tardy records and TERRA NOVA or AIMS results.
Parents are notified of acceptance into TCDS upon availability of space. Please note that TCDS is known throughout Tucson as a consistently great school and it shows in our enrollment. We enjoy a waiting list for admission to most grades so please be sure to register your child or children as soon as possible. Specifically, we typically have more students wishing to enter into our Kinder or 1st grade programs than there are spots available. Weekly lotteries are held to fill available spaces. Students with currently enrolled siblings or those attending our Early Education pre-kindergarten program are given priority over the general public. Please note that students must be 5 years old by August 31st in order to be accepted into our Kindergarten program. |
